The PRAIRIE ROSE
ABOUT US:

Golden wheatfields wave in the wind, tallgrass prairies, windmills stand like
sentinels over the land. This is where our hearts are. A land that has
withstood the harsh winters, the baking summers with relentless winds and dust,
the droughts that last for years. Sometimes the only thing that can survive here
is the sunflower, the Prairie Rose.
Kansas artists Terri and Linsay VanMeter create unique jewelry using Prairie
Glass, pieces of our past, worn smooth by years of wind and weather. This
glass has been uncovered on the plains and farms of our prairie. Each jewelry
piece captures the rugged beauty and the delicate simplicity of the land. With
each necklace or bracelet we wonder where the glass has been--perhaps a
shattered "Snake Bite" bottle from the traveling medicine show, a broken
Dematassi set from a covered wagon, blue-green canning jars from farms of
old. We hope that your piece of Prairie Glass will capture the allure of the
Great Plains and the beauty of the Prairie Rose.
